Khyati Tongia | 01/01/1970

As believed by Nelson Mandela,- “Our children are our greatest treasure. They are our future. Those who abuse them tear at the fabric of our society and weaken our nation.” In India, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 are implemented with the aim of achieving the objectives as mentioned in United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children as ratified by India on December 11, 1992. These statutes deal with juvenile in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection, by providing for proper care, protection and treatment by catering to their development needs, and by adopting a child-friendly approach in the adjudication and disposition of matters in the best interest of children and for their ultimate rehabilitation through various institutions established under this law
