Supreme Court to hear a plea by Aspirants who missed out papers of the Union Public Service Commission's Civil Services Main Examination due to COVID-19 seeking additional (Extra) attempt to appear in the examination.

Sr Adv Gopal Sankaranarayanan for the petitioners

Adv Naresh Kaushik for UPSC

ASG KM Nataraj for Union.

Sr Counsel: We have served the UOI & UPSC.

Bench: Who's for UPSC?

Kaushik: This is an issue which is very complicated. Give me 2 weeks to take instructions on the same.

Bench: Any objections Mr Sankaranarayanan?

Sr Counsel: Only the time. Interviews have been conducted & we have already missed 2 exams and other have missed all the 7 exams.

Kaushik: This is done as per the rules. Union is also there.

ORDER 
As requested by Mr Kaushik for UPSC, defer till March 21. Affidavit be filed by the parties before the next date.

Supreme Court grants UPSC 2 weeks time to take instructions in plea by Aspirants who missed out papers of UPSC Main Examination due to COVID-19 seeking additional (Extra) attempt to appear in exam.

Matter to be heard on March 21, 2022.
