SCBA announces Elections for its Executive Committee on December 12

The Election Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has decided to hold the elections for the SCBA’s Executive Committee on December 12.

According to the circular issued by SCBA dated November 16, the provisional voters’ list has been published on the notice board and displayed on the SCBA website.

The circular further states that the:

  1. Objections to the provisional voters’ list may be filled till November 24, and these objections will be decided by the Election Committee.
  2. The final voters list will be published by the Election Committee on November 27.
  3. Filing of nominations for various posts will begin from November 28 and end on November 30, following which the final list of candidates will be published on December 1.
  4. The final draft list will also be open for the filing of objections and for withdrawal of candidature on December 3.
  5. The Election Committee will settle on the objections after receiving the same in writing from the persons raising them in the first place. The final list of nominations will be made public on December 4.
  6. One day ahead of elections, a debate for candidates for the post of President and Hony Secretary will be held at the Supreme Court Lawns, where each candidate will be provided with five minutes time to speak. The campaigning by the candidates will stop once the debate ends.
  7. Polling will take place in Library 1 in the Supreme Court premises on December 12 from 9.30 AM to 5 PM.
