A five-judge Constitution Bench of the SC would hear on February 6 a bunch of pleas requesting review of its judgement allowing entry of women of all age groups into Kerala's Sabarimala temple.

The review petitions would be heard by a Constitution Bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices R F Nariman, A M Khanwilkar, D Y Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra.

On November 13 last year, a bench of CJI while abstaining from staying the questioned decision, had agreed to hear the review petitions in Open Court on January 22nd. However, the SC had said it may not start hearing the pleas, seeking review of Sabarimala verdict till January 30 as one of the judges of the bench, Justice Indu Malhotra, was on medical leave.

Last week also CJI had turned down the request for an immediate hearing of the review petitions. An application seeking a live telecast of the proceedings is also pending before the bench, which may consider it on 6th February.

There are around 48 pleas seeking review of the judgement and they were filed following the violent protests in favour and against the September 28 verdict.
