SC Collegium may recommend transfer of three Judges to the High Courts of Allahabad, Hyderabad and Karnataka

The SC Collegium is likely to recommend the transfer of three Judges to the High Courts of Allahabad, Hyderabad and Karnataka.

According to a Bar and Bench report, the three High Court judges that may get transferred are:

  1. Justice Vineet Kothari, who is currently serving as the judge of the Karnataka High Court is likely to be recommended for transfer to the Allahabad HC. Justice Kothari has been serving as the judge of Karnataka HC since April 2016. He had also been part of the Rajasthan High Court bench for 11 years.
  2. Karnataka High Court Judge, Raghavendra S Chauhan, may be recommended for transfer to the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Justice Chauhan was elevated as a permanent judge of the Rajasthan HC in 2005 and was transferred to the Karnataka HC in March 2015.
  3. PB Bajanthri of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge is likely to be recommended to be transferred back to his parent High Court – the Karnataka HC. Justice Bajanthri was appointed as an additional judge of the Karnataka HC in January 2015 and was transferred to the Punjab and Haryana HC in March 2015.
