The Supreme Court bench headed by CJI Gogoi today agreed to hear the 49 review petitions against its Sabarimala judgment of September 28, which held that women in age group of 10-50 can enter the Temple in Kerala.

The SC Bench, which also had Justices Rohinton Nariman, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra, has agreed to hear the review petitions in open court on January 22.

However, the Bench made it clear that there is no stay on the September 28 judgment.

The forty-nine review petitions were listed for an in-chamber hearing at 3 PM today before the CJI-led Bench. However, prior to the hearing of the review petitions, the Supreme Court had earlier today deferred the hearing of the fresh petitions with regard to the entry of women into Sabarimala temple.

The SC Bench deferred the fresh petitions saying that the petitions will be heard subject to its decision of the review petitions assailing the Sabarimala verdict.
