Bombay High Court had refused to stay the film's release (biopic of Narendra Modi) by observing that the Election Commission of India had already issued notice to the filmmakers so the Court need not be involved in the matter. Also, that the Election Commission of India had submitted that the model code of conduct is not being violated in any manner.

The national president of the Republican Party of India, Satish Gaikwad has approached Supreme Court against Bombay High Court's order seeking leave to appeal against the said order of dismissal. He has filed SLP and contended that the Bombay High Court did not act judiciously while deciding the Public Interest Litigation no. 41 of 2019 filed by the Petitioner. He sought an ex parte stay on the high court's order of dismissal.
