A PIL was filed by a 11 year old boy with the Bombay High Court for banning PUBG. The PIL raises some intriguing issues as the ban on game will be tested on the touchstone of Constitutional right to privacy and personal life guaranteed under Article 21 of Constitution of India.

PUBG is also one of the most popular online games in the world as almost 400 million players play the game worldwide. The online game has up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game's map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.

Gujarat High Court recently took a step forward in this direction. It has ordered that playing PUBG is a new crime. When any person playing this game comes to the notice of the police, they can be arrested. Till now, 10 young people have been arrested for playing PUBG in Rajkot city. Among these, 6 were college students.

All the arrested persons have been booked under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code for disobeying the order duly promulgated by public servant. However, later they were granted bail.
