In an unusual case of domestic violence, Delhi HC gave police protection to a man after it was established that he was physically assaulted by his wife.

The victim, identified as one Sanjeev Sharma is 90% handicapped and does not live with his wife. He works as a teacher in a government school.

Sharma had alleged that he is facing a threat to his life as his wife would regularly torture him physically and beat him.

Counting on Sharma's allegations and the convincing evidence submitted by his advocate Aaditya Aggarwal, the court ordered the area SHO to provide police protection to Sharma.

Further, after conducting thorough evaluation of Sharma's condition and nature of the threats he was receiving, the HC bench headed by Justice Najmi Waziri ordered the investigation officer of the case to talk with the victim’s wife and warn her to not take the law into her hands.

The court also ordered that Sharma must be provided with two emergency contact numbers of policemen.

Sharma’s advocate had also alleged that his client’s wife has thrashed him in the same school he taught. The woman was also accused of beating their son.

To support his allegations, Sharma’s advocate had produced some photographs as proof before the court, in which the wife could be seen breaking a three-wheeler intended for disabled people.
