Senior advocate of the high court of Madhya Pradesh, Rajendra Tiwari, has been appointed as the new Advocate General of the state.

According to a Bar and Bench report, the appointment came following the change in government in the state that led the former Advocate General Purushaindra Kaurav to resign from the post of AG on December 12. Kaurav had been serving as AG of Madhya Pradesh since his appointment in June 2017.

Tiwari enrolled as an advocate in June 1964 and has practiced at the MP High Court at Jabalpur and the lower courts for over 54 years. The veteran lawyer has also served as Deputy Advocate General of the state from 1984 to 1988. He was designated as a Senior Advocate in 1995.
