Kiren Rijijufurther added that the Central Government is eager to work effectively with all the National Law Universities and law academies.

He asserted that since the government believed in the independence of judiciary, it wants to work towards strengthening the judicial system. Also, the Central Government under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi desires to form a secure and powerful relationship with all the High Courts and Supreme Court judges.

“Timely delivery of justice must be made a priority.” The Minister emphasized upon the requirement of equal justice for all common people. He further mentioned that the Union Government would assist the judiciary to ensure delivery of justice to everyone.

CJI NV Ramana in July 2021, had underscored the need for a law to make mediation the compulsory first step in dispute resolution process. The CJI was delivering his keynote address at the India- Singapore Mediation Summit titled, ‘Making Mediation mainstream: Reflection from India and Singapore.’

The CJI stated that, “Prescribing mediation as a mandatory first step for resolution of every allowable dispute will go a long way in promoting mediation. Perhaps, an omnibus law in this regard is needed to fill the vacuum.”
