Justice Suresh Kumar Kait Gets Transferred Back to Delhi HC from Hyderabad HC

The Central Government on Saturday has notified the transfer of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait from the Hyderabad High Court back to his parent court, the High Court of Delhi.

Justice Kait had been transferred to the Hyderabad HC in 2016, following which he had made a request for his return to the Delhi HC.

The Supreme Court Collegium accepted his request through a resolution dated September 7.

The notification passed by the Law Ministry states:

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as a Judge of the Delhi High Court and to direct him to assume charge of his office in the Delhi High Court on or before 20th October, 2018.”

Justice Kait obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. He served as the standing counsel for the Central Government from 2004 till his elevation as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court in 2008. He was elevated as a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court in 2013, before being transferred to the Hyderabad High Court in the year 2016.
