Justice L Narayana Swamy Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court.

The Centre has appointed Justice L Narayana Swamy as the Acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, following the elevation of Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari as a judge of the Supreme Court.

In the notification issued, the President Ram Nath Kovind has given his assent under Article 223 of the Constitution of to appoint L Narayana Swamy as the Acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Swamy enrolled as an advocate in 1987 and practised in the High Court on services matters, land reforms, land revenues and PIL’s. On 4 July 2007 he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka HC and was made permanent on 18 April 2009.

Justice Narayana Swamy will take charge as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka HC when Justice Maheshwari relinquishes charge.
