Govt notifies appointment of 4 permanent judges in Rajasthan HC, 1 permanent judge in Uttarakhand HC

The Central Government notified the appointment of four additional judges from the Rajasthan High Court, and one additional judge from the Uttarakhand HC as permanent judges on Wednesday.

Justices Manoj Kumar Garg, Dr Virendra Kumar Mathur, Ashok Kumar Gaur, and Inderjeet Singh were confirmed as the permanent judges of the Rajasthan HC, taking the total strength of the HC to 29 against a sanctioned strength of 50 judges.

Further, additional judge Sharad Kumar Sharma has been appointed as a permanent judge of the Uttarakhand HC. With this development, and the recent appointment of Justice KM Joseph to the Supreme Court, the working strength of the Uttarakhand HC now stands at 7 permanent judges, as against a sanctioned strength of 9 permanent and 2 additional judges.
