Keeping in mind the persistent Corona Virus outbreak, the High Court of Delhi has taken the decision to continue the current system of hearing cases (limited physical hearings with many precautionary measures) till 30th of November, 2020. This decision has been taken by the Delhi HC on Monday, 19th October, 2020.

In the notice that has been issued by the authority, the Delhi HC has taken into consideration the super fast spread of COVID-19 pandemic which still seems to be highly transmissible in the National Capital of the Country and adjoining NCR areas and hence this decision has been taken as a measure to control the spread of the virus.

Previously, the lockdown was extended till 30th of September, 2020.

The High Court took the decision of resuming physical hearings from 1st of September, 2020 with three single bench and two division bench judges on a rotation basis. But later, keeping the spread of COVID-19 in mind, the total number of division benches was reduced from two to one and only two single bench judges will hear ongoing cases, though there are several lawyers who have preferred virtual hearing of cases.
