Collegium recommends two HC Chief Justices for elevation as SC judges

SC Collegium headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi on Wednesday recommended the names of Rajasthan HC Chief Justice and Delhi HC Chief Justice for elevation to the Supreme Court.

Rajasthan HC Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog, and Chief Justice Rajendra Menon of Delhi HC have been elevated to the top court.

Justice Pradeep Nandrajog was enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) as an advocate in 1981. On 20th December 2002, he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Delhi HC and became a Permanent Judge of the same court on 16th April 2004. Justice Nandrajog was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan HC 2nd April, 2017.

Justice Rajendra Menon started practising law soon after he completed LLB from NSE Law College (Jabalpur) in 1981. He served as the Standing Counsel for Central Government from 1991 till his elevation to Bench, besides being Standing Counsel for several Private and Public Sector Undertakings like Rani Durgawati University, South Eastern Coal Fields Ltd., Syndicate Bank, Northern Coalfields Ltd, Western Coalfields Ltd., and various other establishments.

Justice Menon administered oath as an Additional Judge of Madhya Pradesh HC on 2nd April, 2002. He was later posted at Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh HC till March 2008, and then got posted at Principal Bench at Jabalpur. He has also served as the Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh HC from May 13th, 2016 till March 14th, 2017.
