New Delhi: The students of Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) were attacked on the University campus by a group of masked men on Sunday night. Around 30 people including the students and professors were injured during this attack. The students were brutally beaten up and the property was vandalized. While the students kept calling the police, the Delhi police allegedly remained a mute observer.

The political parties are accusing each other for the shocking incident although the students are in a state o shock, compelled to question their security within their own campus. The nation has conveyed sorrow and rage for the appalling incident. Priyanka Gandhi, Arvink Kejriwal, Swara Bhaskar, Barkha Dutt have raised their concerns for the eventuality and have condemned the violence against the students.

The incident has instigated rage in the hearts of the people leading them to question the actions of the government and concerns about their protection in their own country.

The public is not wrong in believing that they are not safe in their own home anymore, as what can happen to the students of JNU can now happen anywhere and with anyone. What is really needed to be addressed is that is this beginning of “Gundaraj” in the country?”
