The FIR was reported against five individuals on 3rd May under Sections 188 and 505(2) of the IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act. Although all five  of them are  from Joura, but the FIR was lodged at the Porsa Police Station in MP . The FIR was reported on a complaint from Yash Sharma, a BJP worker.

Atul Singh, the officer in-charge of Porsa Police Station said that none of the five accused(s) could be  arrested earlier because they were on the run.

When asked whether the police had used stricter provisions of the rule, Singh responded, "Let the court decide."

Morena Police Superintendent Asit Yadav claimed that he was not aware of the case because “such complaints are received at the police station level”.

However, according to the FIR reported by Chief Constable Kaptan Singh, the complaint was forwarded by the SP on WhatsApp. The chief constable said that at least one more case had been lodged elsewhere. He said one of the accused had requested early bail, and the matter was likely to be heard by the court in Ambah on Saturday.
